Ken-Ton Closet volunteer Amy Luparello
Amy volunteered with the Closet since our early years and when we branched out during the pandemic to assist people with food through our Ken-Ton Cares program, she was right there with us volunteering almost every day we were open. She was a teacher aide at Edison Elementary and was passionate about dedicating her time to help those in need. Although it was a scary time, she was perpetually grateful for the opportunity to serve.
Sadly, our friend and volunteer Amy passed away on June 24th, 2022, after a battle with cancer. Our volunteers, touched by her loss, have created a small food resource called “Amy’s Cupboard” to help address food insecurities faced by our Ken-Ton Families. We are proud to continue this work in her name.
